EVENTS: SATURDAY 18th JUNE

8.45am St Mary’s bell ringers ring in Welwyn Week.

Freshly grilled bacon and sausage rolls and chocolate brownies at the street market. Rusty Gun produce stall in the car park. Bedrooms open for viewing. The Wellington. All week – 20p from every cup of tea or coffee sold before 11am goes to Festival charities. From 9am. Breakfast menu at the White Hart. 50p from all dishes go to Festival charities. BBQ burgers and sausages at the rear of the Grapevine, High Street.

THE STREET MARKET 9.00am - 12.30pm.
Over 70 stalls, plus the hurdy gurdy man. Codicote Road, by St. Mary’s Church. Tours of the tower and refreshments in New Church House.
9.30am – 12.30pm. Jewellery and silversmith displays. Gothic House, corner of Mill Lane/Church Street.
10am - 4pm. Willow Watercolours. Art show, sale and free demonstrations. The Scout HQ. Lockleys.
10am - 4pm Artskool Art Exhibition, Civic Centre small hall.
1.00pm. Cricket match. WGC v. Shenley Village Cricket Club. The playing fields.
2pm - 5pm. Open Gardens (venues listed separately).
5pm “How Well do You Know Welwyn?” Solve the clues and win a prize. Meet outside the Grapevine at 5pm to collect your clues. Entry £5 per team.
7pm doors open for 8.30pm. Festival club night and entertainment. Welwyn Sports and Social Club.
