Cat Survival Trust

One of the Welwyn Festival Charities for 2009 is the Cat Survival Trust, based on a 12-acre site near Welwyn and with projects abroad.

Part of the Trust's function is to act as a rescue organisation for unwanted cats - not just domestic but large cats from zoos and other collections, of which there are about 40 currently in care.

Normally, the site is not open to the public other than educational visits but, for Welwyn Festival Week, there will be daily visits by appointment. There will also be a pulic talk in the Civic Centre (small hall) on Thursday 25th June at 7.30pm, where you can find out more about their work and support it, if you wish, by a donation.

Staffed entirely by volunteers, the Cat Survival Trust raises money from sales at the shop in Codicote Road plus donations and membership subscriptions.

For more information regarding the Cat Survival Trust, come to the talk on 25th or visit their web site http://www.catsurvivaltrust.org/; to visit the cats during Welwyn Festival Week, telephone 01438 716873
